Oh Pam ..I have only just seen this thread...so glad he is responding to the treatment and seems none the worse for it.. ... I can remember Sue's Bea having a very swollen eye one morning and I think Sue came to the conclusion that he must have rubbed it himself on the edge of the stable frame work...[This was again after the vet was called etc etc.... and yes I bet that was a weekend Too.

I'm so glad his eye is improved greatly already Its so alarming when they injure their eyes. Galahad has a mystery putrid smell that comes from his mouth from time to time. Last year I had the vet and I practically crawling all over his mouth with a strong flashlight to try and source the smell and we never did find anything The vet thinks the smell may come from Galahad's habit of holding a cud in his mouth. He thinks maybe the cud's been held too long. I hope Winnie's allergies clear up soon and the abs clear out any lurking infections for him

I was thinking it could be a similar thing with winnie. The vet did pull out a peice of chewed cud from his cheek.

So glad the eye is healing up so quickly. Perhaps he needs a peppermint mouthwash twice a day? LOL!
