Excited about this!

Well, our two fillies, Kia and Mattie have had the winter off to just mooch around and relax, but next week sees the end of their holidays and they will both be back under saddle.

They will have a month of pottering about, just hacking round the lanes, then April they start BIG SCHOOL! I'm really pleased to have found a good instructor who is going to give Nic (my groom) a lesson on each of them every week to give them a gentle start into schooling.

Then - and this is the bit I'm REALLY excited about - Nicola Eminson has agreed to take Mattie for a short show season, including (fingers crossed) one of my very favourite shows, the Derbyshire Fell, Dales and Highlands. I'm so thrilled she's agreed to take her, I can't wait, I'm really looking forward to the summer now.

I think Mattie will love showing, she certainly enjoyed her in-hand outings and she just adores showing off! She will think everyone has come to look at HER!

Kia, on the other hand, would only win a prize in the show ring if there was one for the loudest snores as she would be so bored. We are aiming Kia at some 'baby' dressage tests to start with and maybe graduating to some proper ones by the end of the summer series if she enjoys herself. She might even get a chance to do some tiddly jumping later, I think she'll love that ....... Performance Show perhaps?

I have to confess, I'm with Kis on finding the show ring a bit of a snooze Much prefer the quick dressage test ;D
