I'd like a pair of jods or breeches that fit I'm a bit straight up and down so have a wide waist to bum size or small bum to my waist size yet have chunky calves so if they fit waist/sagging bum they end up being tight in the calf so when bending my knee to get on they pull over my knee and restrict movement (my excuse) and after riding for a while my knee goes to sleep from pressure on it. Cheapie nylon jods end up more stretchy but are quite thin and unflattering to those that don't have neat little toned bums and thighs, the cheapie cotton jods never survive my washing machine for longer than a few washes (I can murder anything in a washing machine) and end up being very unstretchy. I've got a pair of straight leg Horka (courtesy of jacuidales ) which are fab for a hack and get worn a lot but they exclude wearing long boots or half chaps which feel better for schooling. I'm a bit reluctant to send for an expensive pair without knowing how they fit and my local (not really local at all) tack shops don't have varied stocks. All advice and comments welcome please.

I'm afraid I can't help. I'm also built straight and have never found a pair of breeaches which are comfortable and fit well. I have given up looking and live in Musto jods.

I'm a similar shape and have only really ever had success with dublin jods which are not expensive and the 2 pairs i have are really thick and warm. the others I have are from Decathlon here in france (their own make~) they fit reasonable well but are def not long enough to wear without chaps

I would also recommend Dublin cotton pull on jodhpurs. They are quality material and stretch where they need to stretch. They are also a good price.

I loooovve my Horka breeches. I'm just not sure where you can get them now in the UK. They used to come in loads of different styles and fabrics {I really like Schoeller Prestige - hardwearing, warm in winter and cool in summer and not clammy like cotton breeches) and were custom made

I can also recommend the Dublin Pull on jodphurs. I've had a pair now for about 6 years and they still wash well & don't sag.
