Hope you get more entries. I love Timed Trot classes. They really showcase the Dales breed and are such good fun

Yes, I do hope you get more entries. I wish I was nearer because I'd love to go.
By the way, what are timed trot classes?

Timed Trot is just when someone with a stopwatch times you trotting over a certain distance and at the end of the entries the one who took least time wins!

I don't know how Timed Trot classes are carried out at modern shows but when I was a child in the early 70s my Grandad used to take me to shows all over Yorkshire (which involved a bus trip and very long walks ) The trot classes were held over a straight course, probably about 100 yards(?) and the rider just belted along the course in trot as fast as possible. If the pony broke into canter you were eliminated. The races were timed and the fastest horse won, but the most exciting races were where they had 2 ponies racing side-by-side. The losers of each race would be eliminated and the winners would go on to compete against each other in a knock-out competition. It used to draw massive crowds (and lots of dodgy betting ). Nowadays it's most frequently seen in the Gypsy community. I'd love to see Timed Trot classes reinstated at the Spring or Summer Shows or the Performance Show as they do showcase a proper Dales trot to perfection and are really great fun which anyone can have a go at (unless they do it bareback which would be me on the floor ) I think the trophy for the Timed Trot class is in memory of Tony Debell who bred the Twywell Dales Ponies. Tony was very interested in action and proper use of the hocks, so I hope there are lots of entrants for this class at the Midlands Show.

Timed trot sounds so much fun Hopefully taking Coral next year, will get practicing! Shame Jester's not registered he does the fastest trot ever, especially when the little sod's too lazy to break into canter haha

You could always take Jester to the Dales Pony Performance Show! There are classes for Dales types there, they take part in the same classes as the registered ponies and work towards their own championships with the points they earn!
