My wonderful little blue cattle dog, who came to us at 7 weeks and supplied us with 11 years of madness, although she did calm down in her old age. She was OCD in everything and such a funny character, loved balls and sticks and anything she could get me to throw - she would spit the tiniest scrap of whatever she could find that she thought worth me throwing, onto my lap (these were sometimes as small as 1mm square), sit and look at me expectantly! Her reactions were so quick that you could never kick a ball for her, she would end up biting the end of your shoe before you'd got a chance to kick it ;D. She also loved water and would make a beeline for anything remotely wet, which was often a very muddy puddle . An irritating habit of hers (of which she had many) was to nip the horses in the field - poor Cherry would take off the minute she saw her! But it was just a very ingrained herding habit, after all Kaska didn't know the horses weren't cattle . A highlight of her year was to rip up all our Christmas wrapping paper and leave the living room covered in paper shreds. If you weren't careful she would snatch a present out of your hand and rip the paper before you got a chance to ;D. She would dance with me and walked with me over the many hills and mountains I love.
I made the sad decision to say goodbye when she could no longer use her back legs due to severe spinal spondylosis, but her spirit was there right up to the end.
I miss her dreadfully as she was such a huge part of my life, was my constant walking companion, she slept in my bedroom, was the first one to bark when I got home and the best watchdog of all of them. She will be forever sharing my heart along with other special people and pets. Hopefully she has found lots of balls to chase over Rainbow Bridge .. her ashes will be scattered at home and all the special places we went.
Farewell my beautiful girl
