Many longer-standing members will remember Anne (PonyGirl) and her Dales mare Canadale Prim n Proper. Anne was a regular and prolific poster at one time. Tragically Anne lost her son a while ago and never came to terms with her grief. Sadly, things became too much for her and she took her own life. The message went out on Facebook yesterday. I'm posting this publicly so that we can perhaps post messages which can be seen by her husband, Jim, so that he knows we're all thinking of him and his family. RIP Anne xx

Oh my... I had no idea. I'd tried to stay in touch with Anne earlier this summer. I had a brief email from her and I responded, but she was also on pain meds that had left her not able to chat with me she was always there for me with Blossom and Galahad, and just there in general. Anne, may you find peace and release from your suffering. You were such a dear friend. I'm going to miss you so much Happy trails

Oh dear, that is just so sad. I had a colleague in Kendal who found herself in similar circumstances (son died in a climbing accident in the Lakes) and she never came to terms with it. The love of a parent for a child is beyond measure. My deepest sympathies go out to the family.

Absolutely dreadful, poor Anne and my heart goes out to her family. Suicide is a terrible thing to deal with. No more pain for Anne now, she's with her son.

I never met Anne but over the years, through a shared love of Dales Ponies and America, we became "internet friends". She was a very caring person with strong moral values and a quirky outlook on life. I am deeply saddenned that she was unable to cope with the loss of her youngest son Stephen and chose to end her pain in this way.
Rest in peace Anne, and condolences to your husband, son, mother and many friends who will miss you xx

That's so very sad.... I'm sure her son was waiting for her at Rainbow Bridge.
My sincere condoleances to everyone who knew her and has to go on without her.

Terrible news. Her poor family, I can't really imagine what they must be going through now. My heart goes out to them. At least Anne is at peace now.
