As some of you will know, Wurzel had a very bad accidentin the field and his SI joint was pulled out of shape causing him to go lame. Scans showed that there was no underlying problem, but it did lead to ligament damage and caused his SI to be pulled out of line significantly. He has been on field rest ever since. he has had all tests done at Newmarket- scans, ultrasound, x rays etc.
Newmarket have advised that he may be able to be a good hack for a reasonably lightweight rider but will probably not be able to jump or do long distance (50K) etc and may not be 100% level behind. He did have lovely paces for dressage. He is now sound.
The above is not guaranteed, but he can walk trot and canter in the field without any issues and he can start ridden re- hab from November according to Newmarket vets.
He won't be suitable for what I want to do so I am looking to find him a new home- gifted to the right person.
Prior to the field accident he was a safe hack (brilliant in traffic), good riding around forest tracks (didnt spook at deer etc) and had donme a small ridden demo at a Christmas charity event.
Bashkir curly horses are rare, hyperallergenic and have a loving temperament.
Build wise he is similar to a morgan (hence not being massive weight carriers).
He is 15hh and skewbald.
I cannot gurantee that he will make a good riding horse- it may be that longer term he would end up being a field companion, however the vets believe he could be ridden as per above.
Please PM me if you are interest. Home will be vetted.
