I'm currently using white rope halters to show in but how the blooming heck do other people keep them white! Or is it a case of vanish-pink in the washing machine and untangle the huge knot at the end like I'm currently doing.

I don't show any more but I used to have two halters. One was grubby and used for practice and for warming up at the show. The other was kept in a carrier bag, tightly wrapped, and only came out just before the class and came back off as soon as we came out the ring.
It was washed in Vanish and dried outside to help sunbleach it.
