what I did today. We took two hoggs in wool to the great Yorkshire show and had a spare at home. So today, I sheared two of them, with electric clippers. They don't look professional, lol.but have a lot less fleece now.I have never clipped the horses so it was my first attempt at shearing. No-one got cut and we all lived to tell the tale. I now cant stand up straight or walk far so might have to leave the last one for another day [or Anna]It took me one hour per sheep so don't intend doing it for a living.

Well done Julie. I'm impressed, and in this heat too! Bet the sheep were grateful. Hope you're not too stiff and aching this morning.

.... Why do I keep thinking of a specsavers ad? Bet it was hot work, but the sheep must feel so much better without all that wool on their backs. Sarah

I'm impressed too Julie. I've never done it and Michael won't let me! Don't know why, but perhaps its because he's seen what I do to the dog

Funny Spec savers came to my mind too. I can just see them with a nice hunter clip!

I 'shear' my Angora Goats with scissors. It take me an hour per goat too, lol, and it's hell on the back and knees. I'm sure your sheep appreciate your efforts in this heat, even if they do look a little "special"
