As it's a Saturday Lu is working and can't take it off due to the 3.5 weeks she is currently spending in Austria. Shame as Pait is currently at boarding school being broken to harness. Shame as I love the performance show!

Not long to go then! I like that idea. As an owner of 3 veteran Dales Ponies I'd like to see the older pony properly recognised. I enjoy Harvey more and more the older he gets and the more opinionated! lol, Pam! I used to quite enjoy doing the Veteran Horse Society dressage comps with Sam (before the Cushings/pergolide), was quite nice competing agains other oldies. There is a DPS trophy for an older pony isn't there? I forget the name of it/details but knew someone who's pony won it a few years ago. I wonder if there would be scope to include a rosette or two for ponies over a certain age in the dressage classes next year?? Based on scores across all three tests or something. I don't know about the DPS Shows but Harvey won the Veteran Trophy for the Points Competition the last 2 years. I've been thinking of giving a Veteran Trophy and Rosettes for the Performance show for some years but it would seem like pot-hunting. However, if we are not competing this year............ I think it is nice to show what older ponies can still do and nice to have something to aim for in competition.

I won't be there this year. I was going to stay with Alison for a few days either side & bring Pip but finances won't allow it & I've had to cancel.

Oh, I don't know.............it'd be a committee decision to include something for oldies so I don't see how who helps with the rosettes would be a problem. I think I'd be happy to donate if not too expensive, as I agree it's great to show what older pponies can do.

Think I'll approach the committee then. I've more or less decided not to take Harvey this year.

That's good Be sure to enter anyone who just wants to have a go - no pressure to do all of the classes in a section, or even all the same section with your pony. Its only the points from the main section you are entered which count, ie., if you enter your pony as a novice but he/she jumps really well, you can enter the open jumping and the points from the jumping won't count towards your novice points total. Come along for the fun of it all and try something new...

We are 30 minutes from the Richmond Equestrian Centre, so if anyone wanted to come to the Performance Show and would like to stay (before, after or both) we have room for ponies and riders and would love to see you.

Thanks Maggie, I'm looking forward to seeing you.
Don't forget, although entries are now in, you can still come and watch the show on Saturday if you have a mind to...it would be lovely to see everyone and its a great, friendly show for anyone to come to.
