Thanks--wasn't able to have a birthday ride due to work but next day was glorious and we had a lovely long trek with our Dales-mate Jasper though meadow and wood in the late afternoon (daylight savings is not til next week), appreciating everything autumnal and wondering what sort of odd fresh splat "scat" that was that peppered the trail far from any cow field, hoping we didn't meet it further on. Was shut out of getting across the covered bridge we usually take to get back home due to gator (quad) parked across it so forded formidable stream and high wooded soft bank in true Dales style without a murmur of worry. Many carrots were awarded to bravery!

Thanks--discovered the splat scat was…a Very Big Bear who apparently is fond of the same trails we are. No wonder the ponies are careful about smelling the wind and moving forward!
