Anyone wishing to share their New Year resolutions yet?
Among the usual good intentions (eat less and more healthily, cut down/out the wine . . . usually never achieved) during 2014 I intend to make the most of the 'treasures' I already have. I hope to ride Robin more (the trailer didn't get out last year, except for its annual service), walk the Cumbrian fells more often with my lovely hubby and our Spaniels, stop procrastinating and get on with mucking out our very untidy house (aka dog kennel) and generally try to live in 'the present moment' instead of stressing about what's past and worrying about the future.
2013 was not a good year so I'm really hoping to make the most of 2014. I lost my lovely Mum in October (aged well over 95 but she had hoped to make 100) and the final weeks and days were very sad to witness, although she was not in any pain and very well cared for in a local Nursing Home.
For various reasons Robin didn't get much exercise during the year either. Bone spavin and then an abscess took out most of the summer then as soon as he was able to be brought back into work the weather changed for the worse. Then Mum began to decline and after the funeral much time has been taken up sorting things out and satisfying HMRC etc.
Dad died in 2008 so his ashes had been waiting for Mum's to join him and we finally laid them to rest back in his beloved Scotland in November.
So, although I've been quiet on here I've also enjoyed keeping up with what everyone else has been up to and would like to thank all Dalesfans for unknowingly keeping my spirits up.
A very Happy and Peaceful New Year to you all
