Had to go to my GP on Friday with severe chest pain and he sent me to A&E as he thought I'd got a blood clot but it turned out to be pleurisey so they kept me in to have a chest drain put in, however when the doctor came to do it the pocket of blood was in a difficult place behind the shoulder blade and she thought she would do more harm than good trying to drain it especially as they'd given me a hefty dose of anti-clotting agent the night before. So I'm back in hospital waiting to see if the fluid/blood disapates on its own without further intervention.
It's really disapointing especially as Amanda is here for the weekend and I was looking forward to sitting in the garden with her having some lovely long chats, I'll just have to make do with her coming to visit me in hospital instead, it's a lovely day here and I keep looking out the window and thinking today was the day we should have been doing the pleasure ride together, trying to stay posative and look forward to the autumn.

Oh Andrea - what a shame. However, it is so important to get that blood clot zapped one way or another. Just hope the anti-clotting drugs work quickly and you can get home to your garden.
I have just got back from lovely week in Jersey and this morning took Mol out for an hours ride on our own - very good girl despite 3 big motorbikes going past us on the main road. Motorbikes seem so much better behaved these days and always slow right down - just as well!
Do hope Em is behaving herself and being worked HARD!!

Kate, I'm told Em is behaving but is not being worked at all at the moment as I'm still trying to arrange for her to have some schooling

Sorry to hear you've been back in hospital and hope you are out again soon. My young helper wasn't well today so I took James out instead of Musk and he was an absolute joy and we had a lovely canter up the gallops (as opposed to behaving like a pinball or refusing to move at all ) although he startled me by leaping over the puddle onto the road - this is a pony/hippotamus and usually loves to wallow......

Oh no, Andrea, this is not at all what I wanted to read. Hopefully by now things have stabilised and you are feeling OK but it must be very frustrating. Give yourself time to heal; Emerald will be fine the the break won't hurt her - maybe it is just what she needs.

Really do hope you're on the mend now and back riding as soon as possible. Completely sympathise with how frustrating it is to not be riding!

Andrea, sorry to hear you have had to go back to hospital, but it sounds like you are being really well looked after and staff are making sensible decisions about your care. So frustrating but necessary?

Wishing you well from out here in Majorca and hoping it isn't too long before you are back on your feet and catching up with friends.
