How exciting!!! I'm in America as well, but on the West Coast, but I always think it's wonderful to welcome new Dales ponies to the New Land LOL. Congratulations on your Buckskin QH filly and best wishes for a safe foaling out for your Dales baby. I'll ask because I'm ridiculously nosey, but what's the breeding on your Dales baby? And I'll echo the sentiment about wishing we could have a better economy I see many breeds currently held for safeholding in the hands of a few, which is always stressing for a breed that's genetically bottlenecked. If I could have, I would have imported Helen's Defender to America last year, and honestly, we really need a few new stallions abroad to spread more of the genetics about.

Mackenzie - if you'd like your QH filly to go on the list of 2014 foals, just let me know her name, and the names of her sire and dam. The list isn't just for Dales, but all foals from Dalesfans members. I'd love to see photos of her. I worked on a ranch near Banff, Alberta for several months a long time ago (pre Uni when Gap Years hadn't been invented) so I'm partial to QHs. If they happen to come in buckskin or grulla, even better Debbie - Fen's nephew/baby half-brother Ziggy says he's quite willing to move to America and prove to all the american girls that french boys do make the best luverrrss! Still no bay roan Dales in the States. Shame horses can't travel as excess baggage like dogs now can!

I will post pictures of our QH filly soon. Her dam is Strikes With Thunder a pleasure bred dark bay mare. Her sire is Run Promises a dun Appendix with zips chocolate chip on his sire side. Our filly is a buckskin with lots of chrome, a star, and a snip that covers the entire end of her nose. I think we should do some importing of Dales here to the states. From what I can see there are only a handful of studs and a lot of the breeding mares seem to be older. My research is limited though, its hard tracking down Dales here.

LOL, Blossom would probably terrorize poor Ziggy I used to pay closer attention to the Dales here in the US, but went through a period where my health wasn't so great and my own work was too busy I agree, it would help to get new bloodlines and fresh stock from the UK (and Helen's lines in France ) The ponies we have here in the US are great, very solid bloodlines, but pony owners are far and few between, and I think the breeders even less so. Your buckskin QH filly sounds very pretty. I bet she's wicked fast too

Prim has had her foal!!! She foaled a few weeks early, but the little colt is healthy and doing great! She had him at 7:15am yesterday, he is black with a small star and a bit of white on his rear feet (he is identical to his half sister Poedarosa Perfect Starr whom I also own). We have not come up with a name yet, but can we add him to the list above? I will post pics soon!

Congrats Mackenzie. How lovely to have a new foal at this time of year. I am just starting to make plans for weaning my three oldest foals in a month or so, and I miss those mad, crazy circuits that the newborns do on gangly legs Looking forward to photos.

We bred Prim late due to show schedule, and I was not sure how a late foal would be. But all is well with the weather and all, not very hot here and fall is coming. I cannot believe how soft and hairy this little Dales is!! We are so pleased. As soon as I figure out how to post pictures with smaller mb I will post them.
