Phooey! I hate being injured it's inconvienent. Today I was dumping the spent mushroom compost and washing the bins we use. The garden hose tangled around my right boot as I turned to take the empty bin under the carport where I was cleaning them. Suffice to say, I didn't realize it was wrapped around my foot until I tried to walk at speed. Wrap, trip, splat I remember as a kid bounding back from so many splats, but I think even as a kid I'd probably be in the same position. I tried to catch myself, but the hose tangled tighter. I landed on my right knee and hands, then gave up to gravity and rolled to the ground the rest of the way as I was on gravel. Not fun I managed to gimp to the back door and did something I practically never do: called to Eldon for help. I could barely talk as I explained, but it came out as tripped, splat, hurt. The hardest part was waiting to have him pull off my boots as I'd no idea how badly I'd injured my right knee. Thankfully it's just bruised with some scuffs to the knee and hands, nothing broken that I can tell. I've got arnica on and in, ignatia for the shock and am at the moment on the couch with my knee above my heart, wrapped in every single ice pack I own with a blanket over that to retain the cold. Eldon will have to care for Blossom and Dundee for me today and suffice to say, I'm done with my bin washing for the day. I hate being injured. There's too much stuff I need to do. I'm a lousy patient

Sensing lots of healing hugs and vibes Debbie, it sounds like you've done a twist as well as a fall A shock to the Kidney energy too, especially if hose wrapped round your ankles. Can you put any heat on your ankle at all?

Nasty trip by the sound of it. These things happen so fast, don't they?
I am a great believer in Arnica so I hope it will be much better in the morning, but take it very easy for a few days.

So sorry to hear of your splat Debbie--hard to patient with that. My friend Lise had a nasty fall from her pony the other day and was in such pain--unable to do any barn work and there goes the whole school holiday BUT she has been using arnica religiously (my favorite after a Fall) and had acupuncture and Chinese herbs which she said made her 90% better within 12 hours...just saying'.

I know exactly what you mean about injury being inconvenient, to say nothing of frustrating, hope your feeling better soon, I'm a big believer in arnica too for bruising.

Thank you one and all for the fantastic healing vibes and get well wishes! I'm a firm believer in DFs vibes and they seem to have done a great job My hands are still sore, with my left thumb being the biggest complainer, but I'm relieved to say nothing seems to be broken. I did find a walloping new bruise on my right thigh this morning. I slept with an ice pack around my knee last night, getting up at midnight to change it over. I've had a lot of arnica on and in. And Heather, I'd say you were very right about my Kidney meridian taking a jolt as I had to ice down my right kidney too. I definitely reversed my energy flow and that's never fun Eldon was so lovely for me yesterday, taking care of Blossom and Dundee for me and fetching me things, letting me lean on him I'm such a Do It By Myself gal, it's reassuring to me to know he can care for my ponies when things like this happen. LOL, mind you, he said Blossom was flat out mad at him because I did forget to tell him to give her hay for lunch. She was still grumping this morning, but breakfast made her happier. The day will go slower, but I'm pretty sure I can get my chores done at least

Happy to say I've bounced back completely and have caught up with my chores. My palms still sting a bit, but other than some scuffs to my left thumb, and one bruise I missed the first day, nothing else is showing. I'm not kneeling on my right knee yet, but it's got a full range of motion. Good thing too as today's sunny, so I'll be bucking 85lb hay bales, probably mending fences and lawn mowing if the grass dries enough this afternoon. All on top of my usual mushroom chores. No rest for the wicked, eh?
