Thank you all, I had a lovely day, spent time with the ponies in the morning and in the afternoon I went with a friend to a large tack shop which is full of beautiful but very expensive goodies, lovely to look around but I can rarely afford to buy unless it's reduced. I went to get an air vest and tried on a point 2 and although it appeared to fit well she wouldn't sell it to me as she always likes to inflate them to make sure they fit properly when inflated. The ribs are still a bit too sore for that especially as the point 2 inflates inwards, so I will go back in a few weeks when I'm healed a bit more.
We then went on to a farm with a tea room, farm shop and several small arty crafty sort of shops, for tea and delicious cake, which we had sitting in a lovely sunny courtyard. I bought a punnet of English strawberries to take home for tea and they were so full of flavour and sweet, a real treat.

Sounds like a very good birthday to me. I am envious of those with May birthdays as it such a super month to be out and about with the countryside looking so fantastic.
I am a January babe and it is always so dark and gloomy - if not freezing cold or pouring rain - that I never feel like doing anything special! Bottle of wine in front of a roaring fire with a good telly programme after all the animals are tucked up warm and snug is my idea of a good birthday - sob sob.
