Looks like you guys truly took in the sights while you were there. No way would I sleep under that log beam! It looks like it's ready to smash the bed down. Ahhh the magnolias are blooming, and lots of ante bellum style courthouses, and houses. I can't remember clearly because the Civil War did divide Tennessee quickly, was Nashville slave territory? In other words, was the log house slave quarters or someone's barracks, or someone's home? I've found some slave quarters that were far better built than some of the pioneer shacks. Did you like the fireworks for the 4th? I love 'your' boutique the sidesaddles looked lovely too. Mmmm....watermelons are in season. I'll have to look for those now. Debbie yes the cabin was slave quaters, it was home Alfred Jackson an enslaved and later free man who lived all his life at The Hermitage, he died in 1901
The fireworks were amazing we watched them from the 27th floor terrace of Beths dads office, I'll put a link to the photos and video on
