Aww, thank you! We've got a house full of guests still that I'm celebrating with today and then tomorrow I'm riding with a friend on the duke of buccleugh' s estate at Bowhill - we're doing the duchess ride

Thank you! We had a day, but quite a traumatic one unfortunately! Somehow phoebe got her front leg over the chest bar in the trailer!!! How she did it I have no idea, she and JJ were bickering a bit when she loaded. She marches in on her own and then has a little squeal when next to him so maybe they'd been flirting a bit? Anyhow my friend and I had to almost lift her up so we could drop the chest bar and get her free. Trouble was by getting her higher she became more unstable and was in danger of slipping under the central partition. She didn't panic in the slightest, even continued eating hay while we tried to extricate her. But oh boy I was scared! Jj a tb, was also super chilled thank goodness! We got the bar down by brute force after an age and she strolled out of the trailer as if nothing was wrong. And best of all she loaded again no bother after our rather subdued hack. It was a lovely day, but we went steady in case she'd got sore...

Oh my goodness! I'm so glad both Phoebe and her boyfriend were well behaved during the extrication process. Blimey, these ponies can age us in nothing flat I'm happy had a sedate and non eventful hack in the end

Not exactly a relaxing birthday then but glad Phoebe is OK.
The same thing happened to me once with my last horse, Quest. I was one of the last back to the trailer at a showground and I think Quest must have paniced when the trailer next to him left and he tried to get out. He had both front legs over the bar! There was no one left to help me but somehow I managed to lift the bar with his weight on it and free him. So I know how frightened you must have been and what super-human strength you can find when you have to!
The trailer I now have has a quick release system on the outside but I hope I never have to use it!

Gosh how frightening, glad it ended well though, I did smile at her continuing to eat her hay
