Lettie lambed at 9 am this morning, two days early a girl then a boy. Last year she lambed at 9 am , two days early a girl then a boy. How spooky is that.

I love to see baby lambs, a true harbinger of spring I always think, we haven't got any round here yet, at least not out in the fields, definitely need some pics.

had some friends staying who wanted to see a lamb being born. These twins were born a few hours before their arrival and no-one else was due until next week with our friends leaving today. Lavinia sprang into action early yesterday at 4.30 in the afternoon. Cameras were recording, Lavinia was a star and produced a 14lb gimmer lamb, who got up and suckled like good-un. She has been called Sally, Josh wanted a boy so he could be called Shaun so the next boy will be that.

Oh yes you've got to have a Shaun the sheep, 14lb sounds big for a lamb but it's a long time since I've had lambs, we didn't breed them only used to buy 'pet' lambs and rear them for the freezer. The children loved having them and were totally OK with the thought of them going in the freezer.
The last 3 we had when they were about 7 and 8 they christened Lamb Chop, Mint Sauce and Lucy sadly Lucy died but the other 2 aptly named ones made it onto the dinner plates.
