I remembered this song the other day from my teens and went looking on YouTube and found this fantastic slide show to go with it: "Hold On Tight To Your Dreams" ~ ELO www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7ChoM2Rh60Now I finally understand the rockin' kitty with headphones gif. Of course I can't find the exact one, but I found one similar Since I need to declutter my house and get my butt in gear for weight loss, this song has been a HUGE help I remember LeannwithConnie posting a pole dancing bear. I'm sure that would go well with this song Anyone care to share gifs (those cute little animated pics), or songs or anything else for uplifting, motivating, putting a smile on your face etc? I don't want to be obnoxious for those who aren't in the mood, but I need some motivating songs at the moment Ta!

ELO are awesome. I'm a rock music can myself (and the guitarist in a band) so to me rock is uplifting (well most of it..if it's got a tune like ELO!) Listen to dear god by avenged sevenfold. It's a beautiful song and I find it very uplifting as well. Hold the line by toto is a song I always find fun! Ooh and horsy wise, listen to heavy horses by jethro Tull! Appreciation for all our heavy horse friends

No idea how to do the gifs, so I guess a jiggling dinosaur would be a good one for me but on the uplifting song front, I have a couple that hit the spot for me : 1) Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive. It was the song of choice for my Unit during my Army days in Ireland. That's many years ago now, but it still pops straight into my head whenever something goes wrong or I need to give myself a kick up the ****! 2) The Eagles - Hotel California. Not a classic motivational song, but for me it's associated with freedom, the open road, and adventures still to come Neither of these seem to stop me taking chocolate from the fridge though

Does the Snoopy dance as I pass through... Many thanks for the extra suggestions LOL, Helen I wish it would help me stay out of the biccies and chocs. Sadly that's going to take some sheer willpower on my part, but so far, 2 days down on a cleaner eating plan, so whoohoo! Yesterday I kept having visitors so I haven't gone further with my decluttering, but I'll keep at it where did all this stuff come from?? ....now has "I Will Survive" stuck in my head. Oh well, at least it's an awesome song

I was a teenager of the 60's and I found most of the music of the day uplifting as it was so different to what was previously on offer, particularly more rock orientated bands like the Stones, who were especially appealing as most parents hated them.
Favourites of mine were Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel with the anti war songs with a strong message.
Later on I was particularly motivated by Meatloaf Bat out of hell and found any Status Quo livened up a dull road journey.
I now like listening to Don Williams in the car to calm me with all the plonkers on the road these days.

I loved so many songs from the '60s (my parents' era, so they introduced me and my brother to it from a VERY early age). They were more Beatles fans, and simple Do Wap type stuff on the radio. I don't think we were intentionally introduced to the Stones, but I remember my big brother's attraction to Ozzie Osborne's music as he hit his stride at 15. Wow, I thought Mum would go into full meltdown, so I understand the whole "parents hated them" bit. In retrospect, Dave probably wouldn't have paid attention if Mum had simply ignored his music choice I refound this one by Bonnie Tyler, loved her stuff, and Heart too! "I Need a Hero" www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBwS66EBUcY that explains my hubby. He's a tad *cough unorthodox? My parents reacted very badly to my choice of soulmate. Let's just say my Dad thought Eldon was rather 'wild' and Mum's thoughts and actions are unprintable. Since Eldon and I are still since 1991, I'd say we made the right choice despite family pressures

Oh I almost forgot.... Simon and Garfunkle, I always adored their "Scarborough Fair" but played their stuff constantly when I lived with my aunt and uncle for the summer out in Boulder, Colorado *heart* So many good tunes!

some great songs there Debbie, those are the kind of ones remind me of the 80's.
My favourite happy song is Islands in the Stream by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers,it can make me cry happy tears or smile or 9 to 5 by Dolly cheers me up. I also played my cassette of Bat out of Hell so much on my car player it melted in the end !!
