It was a mixed day results wise and my definition of novice is a heck of a lot lower than most others there Heyho, she's 6 this time and has only done a couple of ridden classes previously. She was rather impatient- we need to work on standing. Although the last class, where she was a pain in the line up, I can possibly excuse as as soon as she was loaded and the ramp up she had a massive wee. Lots of things to learn from- doing inhand am and ridden pm is a bit much mentally for her and if we do, she needs loading for a loo break midday.

She is lovely girl, fabulous colour, I have to teach Connie to stand still as well, she's not too keen on that especially at the beginning of a ride.
I think Pait will just get better through the season, good luck.

she's such the chunky monkey! Poor girl being all ancy in need of a loo. At least you know she'll need a break for future shows

Well done anyway. Obviously a day to put down to experience but sure you have both learned a lot from it. She is looking great.
Mollie was also very green last year - at 6. Her first couple of ridden classes were not very clever, but by the third she was so much happier with other ponies close to her - think they just need to take things slowly as they mature mentally slowly as a breed.
Interesting she would not pee on an artificial surface, as mine all prefer to pee in my small schooling area than in their stables!

Well done. Your hard work is paying off and, as you say, you have come away with lots of positives from the day and "pee plans" for future shows

She is so pretty, I love roan. Like others have said, results aren't important; it's about having fun. I find in hand stuff quite nerve racking! I'd rather be on them as you feel a bit more in control, and less likely to be squashed or stepped on! I did an in hand show with the cob I had years ago and he was a nightmare; he got away from me and galloped round the ring, scaring the other horses and embarrassing me no end! Won't be doing that again
