What a way to spend a birthday - a 10 mile endurance ride in the wolds in the pouring rain! Sue and Sheila joined me with Eric and Jaycee. We did debate whether to go, in view of the dreadful weather forecast but I'm glad we decided to risk it. It might have been wet but at least it was warm and no wind. The going was rather muddy and slippery so we had to take it a bit steadier than usual but still managed a good time and enjoyed ourselves. All ponies were very good. By the time we got back we were wet through, water swilling around in my boots and ponies steaming, exhausted but happy. I'm thrilled with how Harvey coped, he really is amazing for his age. Thanks Sue and Sheila for great company.

What a crazy trio. Most ladies would have settled for a genteel birthday lunch in front of a roaring pub fire on such a soggy day!!! Glad you has fun and yes, Harvey is amazing

Well done to you all for not cancelling, glad you enjoyed it despite the rain, I would have opted for a wet ride as well rather than a warm pub lunch, does sound tempting though.
You must be very proud of Harvey and of yourself for keeping so fit and healthy. Here's to many more years yet.

My gosh, what an exciting and determined ride I'm so glad you and Harvey were able to enjoy it despite the weather. You two truly were dancing in the rain

Sounds exciting for both of you, ponies against the elements. Totally get why some would think it mad but once you set off, it's great fun, isn't it? Surely this is what keeps Harvey happy!
