If so I hope you're all surviving the high winds and driving rain, yesterday was the worst for us I could hardly stand up when doing the ponies and they had to play chase the hay as it blew all over the field. Poor Silver had a big bramble attached to him, one end was tangled in his forelock and the other end in his tail and as the wind blew the rest was repeatedly whipping against his body, took some time to untangle him without cutting off his lovely locks.
I haven't ridden since Saturday, today is a bit better but still not safe ridding weather, but no structural damage thank God. Hope you're all coping with it and also have no damage.

Oh my! I'm glad there's no structural damage done. Poor Silver, I can't begin to imagine having a bramble wrapped round like that. Coco tends to get them in her tail, but knock on wood, she's never been stem to stern. Stay safe everyone

Yes, we did have gales yesterday but not quite as bad as you in Suffolk, I think. Terribly gusty though and much too blowy to ride. I was meant to take Mollie in the trailer over for another schooling session with Gill, but abandoned my plans. However, she is entered for another couple of Prelim tests next week, so I hope the weather is calm that day, or the scores might be interesting!
Poor Silver. Glad you got him disentangled OK in the end. Hettie (Mollie's mum) is the one who is always decorating herself with brambles or hedge cuttings! She seems oblivious to huge bits of blackthorn or bramble well tangled in her thick tail and sometimes they are a real devil to get out again. At least it makes me quite good at clearing up after our hedging work!

Yesterday was the worst. Apparently it was 30mph winds but seemed worse! I was at work luckily so inside most of the time and couldn't ride anyway, so didn't feel like I'd lost out cos of the wind Today was a bit better, but I still didn't wanna ride! Sunday and Monday were a bit better than today so I did ride then, but today's winds...I draw the line! Got to the field to feed them tonight and their water bucket had flown to the other side of the field!!! It was full as well!

Yes, Monday was quite frightening. I decided to stay in all day rather than risk anything silly. One gust was so strong it sounded and felt like the windows were going to blow in. No damage other than a few ridge tiles off the garage thankfully.
I rode yesterday with Linda up on the hills and it was wild and bracing! Ponies good though.
