Just thought you might like to see an update on my Exmoor pony that I bought July last year, she has just turned 6 now and was broken but very green when I got her. She was quite sharp for 2/3 months so I just hacked her out a bit and she had a bit of a break over winter. The last few weeks I have been hacking her again and have started lessons where she is amazing both me and my instructor with how quickly she is picking things up and how willing she is. A recent pic I was also told when I got her that she would never make a kids pony "Oh Exmoor's are far too sharp for kids" so I am delighted that my friends 6 year old daughter has ridden her a few times and hacked her out on Wednesday, only going on the lead rein on the main road. She is proving to be a fantastic little pony and I am so proud

She's gorgeous! I love exmoor ponies. I've never met one but I think they're really pretty. And I thought they were supposed to be really good kids ponies?! I'm sure I've heard that lol. Well done with her!

Awwh, you've done a lovely job with her! I thought Exmoors were supposed to be excellent children's ponies too, but I guess it all comes down to the pony. I've heard some horror stories about children and Shetland ponies and they're supposed to be such good children's mounts.

Thank you she's definitely more sharp with me than she is with her little jockey, I think a goods kids pony just knows when they need to look after their jockey. Had a lovely hack out this morning where my friends fell who was supposed to be our 'nanny' had a big wobble and wouldn't go past something so I sent her forwards and she led past like a star. Now I've got used to her (such a long time since I'd ridden a proper pony) she is a fab ride.

With me he can have one hell of a spook and enjoy a good buck and a speedy gallop, with James he's like a dope on a rope, plodding along, cool as a cucumber, goes on the bit without being asked, rides like a dream. I feel a bit jealous!!!! Silly ponies
