never ceases to amaze me what wonderful buildings our ancestors created! Nice photos of a beautiful abbey Zelda. I totally agree Fiona, and I wonder if we even have sufficient skilled stone masons to create something similar nowadays? Infact, do we actually build anything that will last for centuries now, and be admired by future generations? We seem to live in a box-profile world The Shard and Gherkin excluded...

Beautiful. I agree with Helen and Fi, I wonder what future generations will think of our architectural creations and how long they will be standing for.

They won't be standing for long as most of the buildings from the past

I fully agree, our modern age is really missing the knack of making structures that stand for ages. For us, we've lost so much craftsmanship just since the '90s. I prefer an older house, because I know it was built right with superior materials. The artwork is amazing, although the whole place has a spooky feel to it. It looks perfect for pumpkins and ghost stories
