Yesterday me/Harvey and Sheila/Jaycee went on a pleasure ride organised by the South Wold Hunt. It was in an area I've always wanted to ride in - I've walked there on foot several times and always thought it would be perfect for horse riding and I wasn't disappointed. In fact, it was the most beautiful ride I've done in a very long time. A lady we hadn't met before joined us with her lovely young cob, Larry. Larry gave us a lead for some fast trots and canters when Harvey and Jaycee were on a bit of a go slow, Harvey led the others through the dangerous ford crossings and Jaycee bravely led us past scary sheds and other horse eating monsters so all 3 ponies played important parts! Sheila on Jaycee and me on Harvey: one of the ford crossings: the beautiful and atmospheric church in an isolated spot: The route took us along some beautiful lakes: Thanks Sheila and Louise for great company.

Yes I have to agree with Pam, it really was a fabulous ride and I think our smiles say it all. The ride was only a short one but was very well marked and we didn't get lost once! A sausage bap was served when we got back and cake if you wanted it too. A perfect day!

Goodness that looks like a gorgeous place to ride. I agree with the others, the smiles say it all The church looks lovely! I'm not much for churches, but that one is beautiful. I wonder how old it is? ...editing to say, I didn't realize there were cattails in the UK. I remember eating the roots as a young child. It was one of the staple foods for our Native Americans.
