We saw it a bit earlier as we were driving across the top of the M62. Never seen anything quite like it, very impressive.

Wow, that's impressive! I heard on the news about the storms last night. We didn't get any over this way.

Great storm - always makes me feel so tiny and humble when something like that is happening. Wonder how many places/trees/houses got hit by the lightning - glad you were all OK.

Looks quite wild! Fabulous video.
First saw that sort of storm in Australia with straight to ground bolts but it seems to be increasingly present in all climates. Scary stuff. We've been having a week of storms as well and very glad i am that I have a barefoot pony and plastic stirrups--thinking may take omnipresent hoop earrings out of ears as well. What to do about the saddle dees and pony's bit though--guess it's bosal and bareback when it looks threatening? Still better than a blizzard in my book.

Wow, someone in SouthEast Missouri has shipped one of their summer storms with the complete package to you I'm glad you've safely weathered the storms. I read somewhere that Scotland had something insane, like over 15,000 lightning strikes in 24 hours. FYI if you are out riding and can't make it home, get off the ridge if you're riding along one, and get off your pony. In a nutshell you don't want to be the tallest object out there pony + rider = pretty tall
