I was undecided whether to post or not but have decided to share a couple of pics. It was our first time at GYS with Pait. First class was inhand. I was really struggling with her rope halter and getting quite cross- it kept slipping up and she kept trying to grab the grass. Hey ho. We both hate inhand and Ive pretty much decided we wont bother in future. Came 7th out of 9. The ridden I was dreading- had heard there was 50 entries the night before and the biggest class we'd done was 10. And she'd not done a big show either. I was probably stupid taking her. She behaved herself really well, I stayed on. Her marks weren't great but it was a huge ask. Maybe we'll go back next year. Got a couple of loveky pro pics plus ones my dad took (we got around 5 nice ones out of 100... his skills werent great!) Dad's skills..

LOVE that last pic--so see her mama in her, and her attentiveness to balance. Well done Patience!

Well done! You must definitely enter again next year. I was hoping to come and watch but then couldn't get a dog sitter for the day.

Very well done for daring to go with a youngster to such a big show. I think you both did extremely well, and showed off that lovely colouring to a much bigger audience.
My top tip with stopping rope halters slipping - if you take the lead rope back through the noseband loop to the off-side and make a slip knot round the front of the noseband making sure it is in the correct place, and then back through the nearside loop the noseband cannot slide up. Not sure if that is a very good explanation but with a bit of fiddling I am sure you will work it out. I always show my mare in an inhand bridle with a snaffle bit to stop her getting too strong, so well done for trying in a rope halter.
Good photos as well, and she is looking great.

Well done Em & Pait, its a big and busy show. Hope you enjoyed it though, I took Doris for the ridden once and even though we didn't get placed, it was a buzz riding in that ring
