Congratulations! What a lovely pic. Do tell us what is involved in a Performance Show. I'm afraid I know very little about the types of show and competition over the pond.

Good question as there is no real description. We jumped in on the two day 49th NE Connemara show as they had use of the GMHA grounds which are extensive, lovely and have lots of good stabling for overnight AND they paid to fly in a very well known M and M judge--the Connemara folk were absolutely wonderful to work with, very generous with their time and support. They had a whole laundry list of classes for the Connies which we added in Dales In Hand, and then they opened a number of classes to M and M. So points that Dales earned could come from the Dales Breed In Hand and M and M Performance section (WT, gymkhana, equitation, pleasure etc.), Working Hunter (under saddle and cross country), Trail (trail dressage and a trail obstacle both of which were in an arena, the dressage including side passes along rails, cantering around /through rail pinwheel and other exercises), stadium jumping, driving, as well as points earned from the concurrent Central Vermont Dressage Association show in USDF classes. Points garnered were added in for criteria for each section Dales champ and reserve with a high point Great All Rounder just for Dales. It was def a learning experience re organizing but everyone who came was so pleased to meet each other, so high hopes for a more connected Dales group here in New England. The Dales loved being stabled in the same block and took care to keep the grounds well grazed and did lots of splashing in the small river that runs through.

Wow, it sounds amazing and must have taken some organising! We don't have all those classes over here are but they sound intriguing, particularly trail dressage. I've seen videos of the trail obstacle but not the dressage.
