I woke up and watched out of the bathroom window for a bit. Then just had to go out and experience the whole thing in the open. It was chilly but with a coat wrapped round my legs, I sat spellbound for about half an hour. Through my binoculars it was amazing, and took some photos which were similar to yours but not as good!
The sky was so dark that the Milky Way was visible and the sky was just full of stars that are not usually visible here in Bedfordshire. Reminded me of the skies I knew as a child before there were streetlights everywhere to pollute the sky.

Fab pics, Zelda. Well done both of you for being up to watch. I wanted to but was so tired I didn't set the alarm. Strangely I woke up at 3.45 thinking the front door bell had just rung but must have been a dream. I thought to myself I should take a look outside at the moon but I simply couldn't manage. I think I was still half asleep.
