How far north do you plan to move? I think Jane is further north it's lovely country up there, but does have challenges, like the early nightfall in winter *says she sitting on the Oregon coast in America but still, it is quite beautiful in Scotland!

Well thats about as far north as you can go without getting your feet wet lol, short days in winter, and almost no nights in summertypically you get 6 hours of daylight in mid-winter and 18 hours in mid-summer. You'll find postage/courier costs for mail order items higher, there is less pollution, wonderful scenery tho it is very exposed quite flat at John o Groats I think

It def would be a life changing move, have you visited there if not a short fact finding holiday would be a good plan, there are plenty of slower paced areas up here, the Borders where we are is nice, also the west coast of Argyll is stunning, I have lots of photos from over that way flic.kr/s/aHsjwgiJ43flic.kr/s/aHsk3tUd4D

Helen, Cadeby on here, lives in France with her lovely ponies, I quite fancy it myself but hubby can't get past the fact that he doesn't speak the language, mind you he finds problems with anywhere when I suggest moving, he just doesn't want to move full stop.

I am trying to learn french but im not great at english lol. The property you can get get for a fraction of the price of here. The weather is better although I hear flies are a nightmare. I have got to try and get over for a weekend and have a look. I am still looking in the uk but very few unless you have pots of money.
