Amba goes solo!

Amba and I went for our 1st hack alone without M this morning and she was brilliant!.

She was a little trappy to begin with but with a little encouragement she soon found 2nd gear!!!

We did some nice trots on the way out with lots of diagonal changes from me to help her level up and then we come to a x-road and turned right onto a short section of busy lane. We had a brisk trot to get it over with and just as we turned sharp left to enter a bridleway some nutter was speeding down behind us and he had to slam his brakes on and little Amba didn't bat an eyelid at the noise of the skidding-stupid man, thank goodness I had my yellow tabard on.

On the way back the focus was on getting her more sharp of the leg, so lots of walk halt transitions and after a few gentle reminders with the crop, she was lifting into walk beautifully so she had lots of praise. A little circling work around a grass triangle ,then girth loosened and a loose rein on the home straight back to the yard.

Really good positive hack, she's doing really well.

What a clever girl. Hope her confidence with traffic keeps up.

My mare has been scared by traffic quite often, so I am never sure how she will react. A few days ago she was stupid-scared by everything but today she was much calmer. Wish I knew what was going on in her head!!

Sounds like a great hack. There are some idiot drivers out there, I never go out without my hi-viz either.

Thanks, she is fine with most traffic, but was nervy around a tractor once and used to be afraid of white vans!, but she doesn't seem to mind those anymore.

Yes, I always wear hi-viz!.
