Hi everyone. Hope you all had a good Christmas!
I am being very naughty in that I tend only to browse anonymously nowadays and admit I am only posting now as I would like some advice on an imminent purchase!
I have been given some Amazon vouchers for birthday and Christmas. So I'm going to buy myself some Ariat short boots that I have wanted for years! Trying to decide between the Telluride or Terrains. Can anyone advise?

I think mine are tellurides. I've had them a few years and wouldn't want to ride with anything else but not sure how different terrains are.

I think I have an old pair of tellurides and a new pair of the terrain H2O which are water proof.
There is very little difference except terrain are waterproof (you can get them non waterproof I believe) and also are all leather except for the tounge. The tellurides have a material insert underneath ankle which may keep the feet a bit cooler in hot weather.
I love both, the tellurides are still going strong after 5 years hard wear, although they look very tatty now. I only got the terrains this summer and at the moment are keeping them for when i want to look a bit smarter, they are both very comfy right from the first day I wore them. I think after having both if I were to buy another pair I'd go for the terrains if only because they are waterproof, but otherwise not much to choose between them, they are great boots and well worth the money.

Having read your post, Andrea, I'm now not sure which version I have. All I know is they are waterproof and very comfortable and supportive.

Probably not very helpful here, I have just had some Ariat Heritage zip front short paddock boots for my birthday and they are so well made and very good quality.
I assume you are looking for robust walking type boots more for yard duties?
The above are more for wearing with gaiters.
My robust yard/dog walking short boots are the Mountain Horse short boots, nubuck leather with lace up fronts and look very similar to a walking shoe, but with a riding sole and heel. About £80 new-highly recommend (although Ariat products are very special!!)

I'm a bit confused about the difference Pam as well! One has a cordura upper and one has a leather upper. The leather one I think is more waterproof than the cordura one.
I do want them for riding in so will need some good gaiters as well.
Thanks for all the advice guys!

My first pair are like that Pam and new ones all leather, I think I would definitely go for the leather ones, I have worn my new leather ones on very hot days and my feet don't get hot in them. I wear mine with chaps to ride in.
Equestrian clearance had quite a few styles of Ariat chaps reduced, most to half price I think so it might be worth looking on there if you want them to match, I where mine with mesh endurance chaps though, I have a new brown pair to go with the new boots and they look very smart or just my old yellow ones for every day.
I find the Mountain horse boots don't fit the shape of my foot, the're too big around the heel, I know I can order Ariat boots online and they will fit.

I have just had a look on the Amazon site and confused myself but think I now have it sussed.
Going by the photos both my old and new boots are lace up Terraines, but they are not quite the same, the old ones are the same as the lace up Terraines on Amazon, the zip terraines are different again with more condura, I personally wouldn't go for a zip boot, I had some Dublin zips before the Ariats and the zips kept coming down with the flexing of my foot, most annoying.
My new boots are also Terrains, I had a look on the box to make sure, but are all leather except the tongue and much more waxy, I think this is because they are the H2O version.
They are both lovely boots but my choice would be the waterproof ones.
The Telluride ones on Amazon are H2O so waterproof and look very similar to my Terrain H2O boots, so if it were me those are the ones I'd go for, hope this helps and that I haven't confused you more.

Mine are the Performance equestrian mesh ones and I am very happy with them. Not waterproof though but very comfortable.

I have Performance equestrian mesh ones too, I've had them years and they are still going strong and very comfortable, mine are yellow/lime green so make us more visible to traffic but they do lots of nice bright colours or plain black or brown.
I also have a lovely brown pair I keep for best that are mesh and kid leather that I bought from a French trade stand at the World endurance championships when they were at Euston Park a few years ago, no idea what make they are though so not much help.

Right the boots have arrived. They are lovely. Very roomy, just hope they aren't going to end up too big! About to order the chaps. What size are yours Pam? I think you are about the same height as me. My calf measurement is 14 or 14 and a half.

Will have to check. Not sure whether medium or large. They do stretch a bit.

Did you check Psm? I think I probably need to order same size as you. We'll look like the terrible twins in the same gear!
