Well they look happy enough. Mine are equally soggy and muddy. Our lake is back in the field. I'll put some pics up later.

they must be as sick of it as us. I did the early morning lambing shift and it was crisp under foot which was lovely

Those photos look like mine - they are all out 21/7 (coming in for their tea and evening hay) and then I trudge them out around 7pm through the slippery mud. I lead 2 together through the orchard - no problem, but the third is by then scrumping on the few remaining windfalls and is usually a devil to catch - in the dark and mud. (Luckily the lights from the haybarn just about reach) The two unridden ones get a good grooming once a week, and Mollie gets the dry mud knocked off before I ride her - usually 2 or 3 times a week at this time of year.
All very happy and their coats are so full of grease the rain never pentrates far under the surface. They all much prefer being out - and no point rugging them as their coats are too thick so they just sweat up under them.

My 2 feral dales ponies, Dolly and Frankie, yesterday. They don't get groomed at all through the winter. They seem happy enough although they are always pleased to see me. Dolly Frankie Dolly again: Harvey is in another field on his own for the winter.

Just goes to show they don't need to be wrapped up (She says shame faced with George being stabled and rugged ... but he is clipped).
