I watched the first part of this series last night (ITV) and quite enjoyed it. It is about the building of a large railway viaduct over a high Dales valley (presumably based on the Ribblehead Viaduct)  and the Wild West type of shanty town which developed there. There were several 'working' horses but not a single Dales - what a shame the programme makers did not use the local ponies which must have formed quite an important part of the original workforce.

I hope Andy's taped that for us to watch. Sounds interesting but, as you say, what a shame they didn't think to show Dales Ponies.
