Harvey has a new string to his bow

Just over a week ago I took Harvey to a small indoor Trec competiton. It's something I've always wanted to have a go at but we've never had anything near enough. Now a new group has set itself up for Lincolnshire.

I've held off posting because I've been waiting for some photos of Harvey but as they still haven't been forwarded to me so I'll post some of a couple of other ponies tackling a few of the obstacles. It was tremendous fun. I paired with my friend Ruth and her Friesian for the pairs, did an in hand class and a single ridden as well. We didn't have a clue what we were doing ie what you have to do to get more points but that didn't matter. Harvey has always been a very spooky horse and I expected him to do badly but he got 2 seconds and a 4th! I think it is something we can do now he is getting older to keep his brain stimulated without overtaxing him physically. He was on a high for a few days afterwards!

I'm going to arrange a Trec clinic for us Dales in the spring with this Lincolnshire group.

Glad Harvey liked trying a new thing. I had a go at a training session with Rory and was pleasantly suprised at how well he took to the different obstacles.

I'd love to do this but nearest group to us is about 60 miles away, I have thought about going but the dates have always coincided with a ride closer to home, which has won.

I've just seen we have some training days and competitions in our area or at least a bit nearer than the South East group, only trouble is that all the dates clash with rides I wanted to do, I've got some decision making to do I think

Yes, that's what I'm finding. The next Trec clashes with one of my favourite endurance rides.
