A bit of a daft question really, but I've struggled to find headcollars that fit the Dales head nicely.
What make and size does everyone use?

I just use rope hatters so not much help. Anna on here makes beautiful leather ones which would be a perfect fit, you could message her for more info.

Thanks, I was wondering if Anna made headcollars as well as bridles. Tho I think I'd be keeping a nice leather one for 'best', ie travelling, esp as ours get left by the field gate in all weathers!!
I will get in touch with her, I feel a birthday present coming on.

I'm interested in replies because I've never found the perfect fitting synthetic headcollar for our Dales heads.

I tend to use a parrelli style rope halter, but I have 2 Tottie smart padded web ones for best, they are adjustable on both sides and under the nose and throat, I have cob size for both ponies and they are a good fit on both even they both have different shape and size heads.

I did use the rope type for a while with Trev but as you can't tie up with them I switched back, also he got aural plaques and has been fussy abouthis head since

I think Amba's is a cob sized Cottage Craft one, it's so faded i'm not sure!

I think mine are cob sized. I will have to check what makes.
I have a lovely one that Anna made for us.
