Just thought I'd put a pic I took yesterday of Harvey at a BD competition sporting his new DPS centenary pad. I really like it although it is not quite the right shape for a dressage saddle, a bit to big in front but should fit fine with my GP saddle. Also you can see how his mane has grown - or rather hasn't grown! The top bit which is a few inches long now consists mainly of the short bits which weren't in the plait he pulled out in September. The lower bit doesn't appear to be growing at all and I'm wondering whether the hair follicles have been permanently damaged. Very tempted to hog....

You could try some aloe vera rubbed into his mane, he looks very smart in his new saddle pad

An old lady I knew as a teenager swore by coconut oil rubbed into the scalp daily for hair growth, it seemed to work for her she was well in her 80's and had a very thick head of wavy chestnut hair, not a grey hair and all natural.
It would be a shame to hog him, though it might look tidier, Connie had quite a big area of very short wispy mane just above her wither when I bought her, I thought it had probably been rubbed off by her rug, it didn't seem to grow at all but now after a year it is about 2" long and now lays flat instead of standing on end. I didn't put anything on it just gave it time, but she now has quite a lot of white hairs there, so I suspect she also had some damage to the follicles.
