You'd have laughed at me today. I saw Ben coming up the field and thought he looked a bit lame so went to check on him, brought him in trotted him along the front of the barn he looked ok, turned round to put him back in the field then thought I'd let him have a bit of a munch of tasty grass, instead we disappeared into the barn at speed with me on the end of the rope trying desparately not to slip on the muddy grass what was he heading for the new round bale of hay which he proceded to eat not from the side, no Ben wanted to eat from the middle of the top which he could only just reach

Aw Bless him, don't you just love them, both mine would definitely have gone for fresh grass over hay. I'm just weaning them onto their summer paddocks which have quite a lot of grass for the time of year as the grass has grown all winter, they started with an hour a day and are now up to 4 hours then back to the bare winter field with hay. Hope to get them changed over fully by next weekend so the winter field can be rolled and harrowed. Probably being a bit cautious but can't take any risks with Emeralds gut.

Knight is in perfect agreement with Ben, a new round bale just calls out to be eaten. The middle of the top though? Knight goes for the center of the side and eats a hole into the center of the bale, causing it to collapse prematurely. Silly pony.
