On Sunday we've got the British Dressage Team Quest regional final - this is where we put together a team of 5 Dales Ponies and 1 Fell. We've been competing at various venues throughout the season and amazingly finished in equal first place out of over 40 teams taking part. It has to be said this is mainly because there were very few teams competing in Lincolnshire, the majority coming from Yorkshire. But even so it will be good to fly the flad for the breed on SUnday.
Then on the following Friday me and Harvey are at the BD veteran horse championship competing at Prelim and Novice! Wish us luck!

Well we did it! We came 3rd out of 15 which means we qualify for the National final in 3 weeks time at Bury Farm, Bedfordshire (yesterday was the Northern Regional Final). I can't say harvey added anything to the team - he did 3 major spooks in his novice test resulting in 4s although the rest of his test was OK. The other 3 were doing Intro tests and got amazing scores. They did brilliantly, flying the flag for the breed.
It was an incredibly long day and not sure I can face doing it all again on Friday for the Veteran Horse champs.....

Very well done and good to know that Harvey still feels able to behave like a 4 year old! Maybe he'll have his serious head on for Friday, if you feel up to it. Good luck

How many do you need for a team Pam? Is there a minimum number?

You need a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7 although only 4 can compete at any one competition.

Gosh! It's a massive effort to put this on, but I've always been delighted to read of the team you put together to fly the breed flag. LOL @ Harvey showing the crowds Dales ponies aren't plods
