I was over on the DPS website the other day and was surprised to see a badge in the corner stating that Prince Charles is now patron to the Dales Pony breed. ? ! When did this happen?! and what does having a patron mean? Do they do funding for the breeders and stallions or is it a pretty badge and name, but not much in the way of funding? It's a novelty for me, so I haven't a clue what it fully means for the breed?

Think he's been the patron for about 18 months-2 years?? It doesn't mean an awful lot really I don't think, he met a load of ponies when he was in Co Durham on a visit about a year ago, there will be pics on the website somewhere I'm sure!
