I tried to get a photo of the elk as they roamed through the main field in the morning, with my blooming rhodies (or possibly azaleas, not sure which one it is truthfully). The camera couldn't decide what I wanted as the focus, so it chose the cheerful flowers instead. If you squint, you can see the big brown blobs in the background. The teenagers have finally matured after around 5 year's into young adults. They still can act like teens, so we continue to call them that as a herd identification. They've gradually become our resident elk herd, while the original herd moved northwards. The teens rotate, mostly bedding in our fields, though they will walk over to the ocean periodically, or up the headland. We've kept the grass tall in the summer field since that's their favorite bedding place. I usually see them in the mornings near day break. They wander the main field, slowly on their way towards the ocean. In the evenings they slowly wander back to the summer field.
Our flowers have finally decided Spring has arrived and everything is dripping in layers of pollen. At first we couldn't understand the excessive road dust on our trucks, until we realized it was pollen. Everyone's sneezing and even ponies have red eyes. Thankfully saline solution helps bigtime and the pollen is temporary.

Beautiful flowers and I can just about make out the Elks. The blossom overhere is better than ever this year. As Alison says, the Hawthorn and Blackthorn are in full bloom now and all the different greens of the trees are stunning. I love this time of year.

I can't believe the blooms this year! It's overwhelming. People with pollen allergens are miserable, and even me and the ponies have eye irritation and some sneezing, all down to the pollens. Still, some of the showiest displays I've ever seen, especially from the trees.

Yes, we’ve an inordinate amount of blossom this year, very strong scent. Love it tho! And the warm dry weather we’ve been having!

Not so warm over here near the East Coast - we've had a lot of sea fret but at least it's been dry and it's keeping the midges away.
