Sammie at Trec

I’ve had a stressful week and wasn’t sure I could be bothered to drive for an hour and a half in the wind to Osbalderstone, but I’m glad I did!

Sammie’s getting the hang of arenas full of odd things, and I’m getting used to remembering the courses. Although I forgot to go through the start gate in our first class! I can’t have been the only one though as we came 3rd out of 5 on just our MA score 😯

I managed to remember for the second test and despite wiping out a jump wing we came 2nd out of about 7. Delighted with that! 9 points towards the league.

Still plenty to improve on, but the little guy is definitely growing up. She says.

We had our 3rd indoor trec comp yesterday too. I decided not to take Eve but I am now on the Trec Lincolnshire committee so go to help. It's lovely to see people new to it or nervous coming away with big grins on their faces.

I also thought it might be cancelled with the wind forecast but luckily for us, we were almost finished by the time the wind started to get up. At the moment I'm keeping the trailer with all the obstacles at ours so I may have a little play with Eve at home......

Well done! I'm so glad it was worth the effort and gamble. It's hard knowing if the winds will be a deal breaker, but I find the wind doesn't bother Blossom at all. I used to dread bringing the horses out with the wind up, but Blossom and I would just stand as we came outside with big smiles on our faces, the wind blowing forelocks about.

I'm delighted to hear of your adventures with Sammie, he's really growing up and coming into his own Trec seems like such a fun thing for people to do with their ponies. How old is Sammie now?

Debbie, he’ll be 8 this year! I can hardly believe it, the time has flown by. I got him just a couple of days before his 4th birthday.

Good grief, how time flies! It doesn't seem that long ago when you were looking for a pony! Can't believe he is 8 already.
