As far as I know Eve has never been clipped and never seen another horse being clipped - she was never around when I clipped Harvey and Dolly. We decided it was time to introduce Eve to clippers this week. She is a very curious pony but also a very reactive one. We spent almost an hour with her untied, letting her investigate them, getting used to the noise and finally allowing us to touch her shoulder with them vibrating. I can't say she was happy but she did get better and better and was fascinated by the whole experience. I can see this being a long job and wonder whether this is normal? Photobucket won't let me post videos but a few pics:

I think she looks pretty chilled there ☺ I don't think it will take long at all Pam, she'll end up loving the experience and the attention !xx

I hope so, Alison. It's just all so alien to me dealing with youngsters after years of oldies.

I think it’s fairly normal, Sammie wasn’t too bad with clippers but was a little bit suspicious and got fidgety after a small area was done so I only did a very small clip under his neck the first time. I was able to do more in subsequent attempts. I think a slow, careful approach is much the best. She’ll not forget a nasty experience if it turns into one!
