What a good boy - he has to have some fun and games at the start to keep you on your toes! Nice to see you both coming on so well. How is Fusch - is she still still lame?

He wouldnt be Smartie without trying to plan a little bronc in somewere, its his idea of keeping me paying attention im sure.
Yeap shes still lame, she went upto Bell equine and shes ok on a surface in walk and trot but really lame on concrete. Shes on bute now and going for gentle walks inhand in the school, then we are takin her off of the bute and then if she hasnt improved by next week shes going to have xrays.
Such a shame, ive knowjn her for 3years and only once has she been lame when she twisted her shoe. Im sure I have a little curse on things.

What a worry but these things do happen with horses. At least she is in good hands at Bell Equine - did they tell you what they thought the problem might be?

When it first happened we thought it was an absess so we poultised but nothing vame out, had her shoes taken off, then we thought it may be a kick but there is a little heat but no swelling. We arnt quite sure as it happened overnight when she was in.
Its so much easier to know what it is, but when it isnt its really hard. I wish horses could just talk, but then im sure mine would give me loads of lip.

lol, yes, perhaps it's better they can't talk! I know what you mean though, it is so much easier when you know exactly what it is you are dealing with.

LOL ride 'em cowgirl ;D Does Smartie do any free jumping? I wonder if it might help him to learn to pace himself going into a jump without carrying a rider? Then again maybe he does fine loose, but panics a bit with the rider's weight? I've never had to teach a horse to jump.

Gawd, Harley would give me dogs abuse if he could talk!! I know exactly what he's thinking even when he can't talk and some of it is less than polite!
Smarts is lovely, he tries hard to be good doesn't he? After the play-up he did some reasonable jumping. Love the last pic 'Aren't i clever??'
Hope you get somewhere with Fuchs lameness.

Thankies, im not allowed to loose school him anymore as I put up a spread and he carried on and jumped out the school. Ops.
The pleb turned out lame aswell today, but two clenches had come off of his shoe and he had bent the actuall shoe, took 4 of us 20mins to try and get it off, worst thing is trying to find a farrier as our one has broken his coller bone.

Ouch and more ouch !! Did your farrier have someone else he could recommend in the meantime? Poor guy, a broken collarbone's no fun. As for Smartie's loose schooling I think he took it a bit to literal Weeee!!!

Hope you managed to find a good farrier - they are like gold dust up here! What a nuisance - you've reminded me why I am soooooooooo glad my lot are shoeless now.
