Nancy with Knight has insurance for him. You might email and ask her. She's up to her eyeballs in work just now, so may take a bit to reply.

I have insurance on my ponies as well. I use Horse Insurance Specialist. They have one of the best policies in the business. Depends on what type of insurance you want, there are several.

This is interesting reading. Is horse insurance not a common thing in the US? I think in the UK the majority of people have some insurance for their horses. They might not have vet bills covered, but liability insurance and purchase cost cover.

I think insurance here is more and more common. Major medical is not quite as common, but is growing in popularity

Where I grew up in the midwest horse insurance was unheard of, except maybe for race horses. Knight is the first one I've ever had insured and the major medical premium was too high for me so I just have full mortality and surgical. My insurance is through the Connaway & Associates Equine Insurance Services in Little Rock, AR because my farrier recommended them. They are extremely helpful. The insurance carrier is United National Group administered by American Equine Insurance Group, LTD. He says they are good about claims but fingers & hooves thightly crossed I haven't had to make a claim and sure hope I never have to.
Modified as my fingers don't type as fast as I think.
