Hi just asking if it would be ok to do a last clip now. My mare has a blanket clip, I would only clip that off. Would it ruin her summer coat- as I show, but just thought I wouldn't get any lines showing.?
Please can you advise. Thanks Jayne x

Magic isn't clipped this year, but I was always told not to clip after the end of Jan. I have only ever clipped Magic once a year , or maybe twice, but never after Xmas!

I was also told never after the end of january!
My friend dared it a couple of years ago and got a patchy summer coat!
Saying that - i would do dancer if he needed it as his coat grows so thick and fast!

Why not do a full clip and then the lines won't be so obvious? Harvey's clip lines remain visible until June, no matter how early he has his last clip.

Hiya i think I worded my thread wrongly!! What I meant to ask was, I'll clip all her body ( which included her blanket clip) but leave her legs on and whiskers.
Therefore- no lines hopefully!! I don't want to clip her face-as I show her and judges like to see their hairy faces!!
Does that now make sense?? I've NEVER ever clipped her fully out on her body- so a bit anxious about summer coat.
Oh by the way joM, my Jet is so like your Dancer- it's uncanny. Except, she has 1 white sock on back leg and a star. Thats why I call her my " Black Beauty"- she's also got very hairy ears!!
Look forward to your comments Jayne xx

Jet does look to have Dancers vastly hairy legs as well!!!
His ear hair is so long I can plait it! Ewww!!!
Do you have any breeding information on her? I have nothing on dancer unfortunately. I would love to know who bred him and from what as I dont see very many similar to him.
Re your clipping - get it all whipped off asap and you will probably get away with it! If she grows out as quick as dance you will be sorted by May!! LOL

Hi just to let you know that I've clipped Jet today- all off. I just left her face and legs on, she looks very smart and NO lines visible !! I used my new liveryman harmony clippers- brilliant. Thery're not as noisy as most clippers and with a battery pack- easy and safer to use. Thanks for advice Jx
