Any ideas what i can do on the ground whilst my neck is hurting, something like loose schooling and joining up exercises, where i haven't got to hold on to a lead rope as it will hurt my neck.
Never really done much ground work, so i will need instructions, LOL, i know i am hopeless, LOL.

What about some clicker training? Have a look on internet and I'm sure you'll find lots of ideas and books. I was a bit sceptical about it but it was brilliant for Zoey and Cobweb and its great fun.

Clicker training sounds a good idea, have you got any good books you could recommend?

Yes we have 'The Click That Teaches' author Alexandra Kurland. We got it from Amazon America and it was approx £15. It only took a few days to arrive and its really easy to use. Just buy a clicker for dogs from a pet shop for £1 and an old whip with something attatched to the end (we used a plastic lemon!) will do for a target. It really is fun and it is very good for schooling on the ground. It worked brilliantly for Zoey who would do anything for half a pony cube! LOL!

Loose schooling is excellent, I always do loose schooling at some point , when I had my own it was once a week, now I will do Dancer every couple of weeks as I am not down there daily. I love it and so does he , sometimes we loose jump, or trotting poles or just poles around the areana, with Dancers high head carrage I try and encourage him long and low.
Meant to say, our indoor school is tiny so its easier to keep them from falling into the corners.

When I had problems with D I used to electric fence a small circle off in the middle of the field. I gradually made it bigger as she and I got better at our groundwork. It was also good to ride in when I was frightened of hurting myself.
