Have any of you broke in a pony? If so how have you done it? I have been breaking in my 11.3hh gelding with no knowledge of how to break a pony in from sctrach. I can now sit on him and hes quite happy to be lead around. Advice would be great! Me and Apache My sister and Apache

Well done, looks like you are doing well without the knowledge (it helps to have a calm pony ;D).
I do like you have, get them used to saddle, then lean over them, gradually getting them to take all my weight. Also train them to stand quietly by a mounting block. Once they've accepted this it's usually not a problem to 'get your leg over'!! Also not use the bit until you know the horse/pony is happy to take a contact on the lunge/longlines.
You'll find if you have got the pony used to voice commands inhand then it is much easier to transfer this to under saddle, as the pony has some idea of what you mean even if s/he doesn't know what the leg and hand aids mean.
If you can rely on a helper then he or she can lead the pony around giving the voice commands to 'walk on', 'halt' etc and at the same time you give the leg/hand aids, so eventually the pony will understand. You can then progress to off the lead rein with the helper on hand just in case things go wrong (it's not so easy on your own lol).
