ACETOMINOPHEN- is the American name for paracetamol. Just checked it Baby aspirin- is that real aspirin as over here aspirin is contra indicated in under 16 years? Im just being curious here. Linda- I doubt the vets would tell you TBH- there are new laws which say that when an animal drug is available a human drug must not be used instead. Im not sure of the ins and outs as vet meds are not a strong point (need to increase my knowledge!)- there is a cascade scheme they must go down when prescribing (ie vet med at the top, human at the bottom I think... but dont quote me!)- Im not sure how this stands when it comes to advising people.

Thanks everyone! He is still holding his leg up this morning but not as much I fancy. He is brighter and happier in himself though - definitley!
Have got aspirin ready if I need it.
I realise that mickey, but she could have let me talk to a vet! There are enough of them there. Mind you, I wasn't my usual assertive self and didn't push it so partly my fault I think!

I'm glad he's a bit brighter today, poor little chap. I bet it won't have put him off chasing after rabbits though!

Thanks Debbie- really bizarre how the medical world works as under 16s arent allowed to take it over here! Ahh but Linda- if you spoke to the vet you might not need to see one! (cynical old me, money!)

LOL...go figure Emily. Let me guess... taking an aspirin if you're under the age of 16 will kill you in the UK but not in the US. ;D

Just to add, Scruff is REALLY enjoying his fuss and cuddles. He thinks he's died and gone to heaven with all this spoiling.

It's been associated with Reye's syndrome so the advise is not to give it to under 16's unless its specifically indicated (just learnt something new- thought it was a complete contra indication- argh- Im never going to qualify). Must be a line to cross in the sea Debbie for people affected lol. Sorry Linda- Ive gone completely off topic. Good to hear he's enjoying the fuss- is he any better tonight?

LOL...sorry to derail your topic Linda. Watch out or Scruff will cotton on that being injured garners extra cuddles and fussing ;D I'm glad to hear he's doing much better though Emily, there's warnings on all the aspirin packets about the Reyes syndrome...so I guess its just how the different country's want to handle the drug dispensing LOL..that is, if there even is a logic to it!
